Purpose, Schope and Basis:

Purpose

The main purpose of this directive is to determine the principles and procedures related to the acceptance of foreign students to Üsküdar University.

Scope

This directive covers the determination of quota, application conditions, selection-placement, and other subjects related to the admission of foreign students to Üsküdar University undergraduate and graduate programs.

Base

This directive has been prepared based on Turkish Council of High Education Principles on the Admission of Students From Abroad (21.01.2010)

Definitions

In this directive

1. University: Üsküdar University,
2. Rectorate: Üsküdar University Rectorate
3. Senate: Uskudar University Senate
4. SAT I: Scholastic Aptitude Test, which can be entered into the world to study in the United States,
5. GCE: General Certificate of Education,
6. ACT: American College Testing for the study of higher education in the United States,
7. Abitur: German Baccalaureate Exam, IB: International Baccalaureate,
8. Tawjihi: The exam to study at Jordanian Universities,
9. Baccalaureate Libanais: Exam to study at Lebanese Universities,
10. Baccalaureate Français: The exam to study at the French universities,
11. Al-Sahada: Examination for Syrian Universities
12. Al Tahanawiyya: Examination to study in Libyan Universities,
13. GAOKAO: Examination for reading at the Universities of the People's Republic of China,
14. Foreign Students: who graduated from a school equivalent to Turkish high schools, but the Republic of Turkey or non-TRNC citizens; double-national Republic of Turkey and / or non-student candidates Cyprus expresses.

Documents required for application

1- Application form (available on our university web page).

2- Photocopies of high school diploma (translated into Turkish or English),

3- Copy of high school transcript (if it was mentioned on the diploma, no need)

4- Copy of passport,

5- Photography,

 

***REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR REGISTRATION***

Students who got their full acceptance letter, must bring the below documents for registration (bachelor & vocational school programs)

* Passport

* Full Acceptance Letter

* Original High School Certificate / Diploma

* Original High School Transcript (If the transcript was mentioned on the diploma, no need)

* Language Proficiency Examination Result (If you do not have, you have to attend Uskudar University English exam)

 

Please note that all documents must be in English or Turkish language.

Applications are submitted to the International Relations Directorate of the University, online or in person, together with the other documents required by filling out the application form.

Foreign National Status

On the condition that they are in the final grade of high school or graduated from high school:

Applicants;
a) International students,
b) Those who hold Turkish citizenship by birth and renounced their Turkish citizenship, and their children under 18 who are listed in the renouncement document but documenting their certification for rights mentioned in the Turkish Citizenship Law, no: 5901, Item 7, stating that “Anyone born, either in Turkey or abroad, in the marriage of a Turkish mother or father, is a Turkish citizen.” Candidates who wish to apply within the “applications from abroad” category should examine the Turkish Citizenship Law,
c) Those who hold citizenship of other countries by birth and earned the citizenship of The Republic of Turkey / those who hold dual-citizenship,
d) Those who hold the citizenship of the Republic of Turkey but have completed their high school education in another country including those who have completed their high school education in a Turkish institution in another country except TRNC,
e) Those who hold the citizenship of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, who reside in the TRNC and completed their secondary education in TRNC, and who have a GCE AL exam score, as well as those who have been enrolled in and educated in a college or high school other than in TRNC between 2005-2010 and who hold or will hold GCE AL exam score,
may apply.

Applicants;
a) who hold the citizenship of The Republic of Turkey and completed their secondary education in Turkey or The Turkish Republic of NorthernCyprus,
b) who hold the citizenship of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (except for those who have completed their secondary education in TRNC and hold GCE AL exam score, and those who have been enrolled in and educated in a college or high school other than in TRNC between 2005-2010 and who hold/will hold GCE AL exam score)
c) who holds dual citizenship, one of which is a citizenship of The Republic of Turkey by birth, as stated in article (A) item (b) above. (except for those who completed their high school education in another country other than The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus/ those who have completed their high school education in a Turkish institution in another country other than The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus),
d) who holds dual citizenship, one of which is a citizenship of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (except for those who have completed their secondary education in TRNC and hold GCE AL exam score, and those who have been enrolled in and educated in a college or high school other than in TRNC between 2005-2010 and who hold or will hold GCE AL exam score),
e) those who hold a citizenship of The Republic of Turkey or dual citizenship, one of which is the citizenship of The Republic of Turkey by birth, as stated in article (A) item (b) above, and who have completed their secondary education at institutions within an embassy or in other foreign institutions in Turkey,
cannot apply.

Selection and Evaluation Procedures

The selection process shall be made according to the conditions specified in the table below or based on an equivalency certificate issued by official Turkish authorities showing that the applicant has completed secondary education.

Application Fee 
Apply via Online Application System.

If the application is approved, the advance tuition application fee of 1000 USD will be charged from the applicant to issue the original acceptance letter. This non-refundable deposit will be considered a guarantee of applicants' intent to enroll at Üsküdar University and get deducted from the tuition fee at registration. 1000 USD will be kept for the same name for one academic year (starting from the payment date) and cannot be transferred to any other name (even family members).

Visa Procedures: 
Foreign students who apply will get a conditional acceptance letter. After the payment of the deposit, the student can get full acceptance letter and he/she can apply for visa. 

Language of Education and English Preparatory School: 
If students enroll in the Preparatory School or departments taught in English, they need to take a proficiency and placement exam. To enroll in one of these departments, students must either pass the university’s proficiency exam, passed a nationally recognized English exam, or complete another preparatory school English program. If students cannot pass one of these, they must complete the University’s preparatory program. If the department’s language is in Turkish and their Turkish level is not sufficient enough, they may take preparatory Turkish Language classes in the University.
